The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) is pleased to announce that the European Defence Fund (EDF) Info Days 2026 will take place on 10–11 March 2026, in a hybrid format, both in Brussels and online.

This flagship annual event offers valuable insights into the EDF 2026 calls for proposals, provides the latest programme updates, and supports collaboration through international networking and pitching opportunities.

Programme Highlights

Day 1 – EDF 2026 Call Presentation
- DG DEFIS experts will present the new calls, outline recent programme developments, and provide practical guidance for preparing and submitting proposals.
Day 2 – International Networking & Pitching
- Participants will engage in matchmaking sessions, thematic pitching, and the formation of R&D consortia for EDF-funded projects.
Investor Sessions
- Dedicated time for investors and companies to explore funding opportunities, connect, and showcase innovative solutions in defence.

This event is intended for potential applicants from public and private entities established in EU Member States and Norway.

EU Funds 2021–2027 and Beyond: Seminar in Athen

The seminar “Implementing EU Funds 2021–2027 and Designing the Post-2027 System”, organised by the European Institute for Strategic Development, will take place on 9–11 November 2026 at the Royal Olympic Hotel in Athens, Greece. The seminar will focus on the implementation and closure of EU Funds 2021–2027 and the proposed EU funding framework for 2028–2034, covering N+3/N+2 expenditure rules, National and Regional Partnership Plans (NRPPs), simplified cost options, performance-based financing, financial management and audit requirements. The programme will include expert-led sessions and practical discussions, led by Lovro Novoselac, Head of Sector for Programming, Coordination and Strategic Monitoring of the ESI Funds at Croatia’s Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funding. The seminar is intended for public authorities, EU programme managers, financial management professionals, auditors, consultants and other stakeholders involved in EU-funded programmes. ENDR: From Lab to Field

On November 25–26, 2026, the conference “From Lab to Field: Deep Tech Dual-Use Innovation for Defense” will take place in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The event is organized by the European Commission (DG DEFIS) and the province of North Brabant as part of the European Network of Defense-related Regions (ENDR), in collaboration with other Dutch partners. The conference will focus on the transfer of deep tech and high-tech innovations into specific defense and security applications and on strengthening cooperation among European innovation ecosystems. The first day will feature expert presentations, interactive workshops, an exhibition, matchmaking, and networking, while the second day will include visits to selected research facilities and companies within the Eindhoven region’s innovation ecosystem. Details regarding the program, speakers, and registration will be announced at a later date.

Agile by Design: Innovating Europe’s Security and Resilience

On 27 November 2026, Dublin will host the high-level defence industry conference “Agile by Design: Innovating Europe’s Security and Resilience”, organised by the Irish Department of Defence as part of the Irish Presidency. The full-day event will bring together SMEs, research organisations, EU institutions, financial institutions and government agencies to discuss the future of European security, defence and resilience. The programme will focus on the integration of SMEs into the European security and defence ecosystem, cross-border cooperation and EU investment in defence capabilities, as well as agile financing strategies supporting innovation. Particular attention will also be given to access to private capital for defence start-ups, European and Irish support instruments and opportunities linked to the proposed European Competitiveness Fund. The conference will feature high-level representatives from institutions including the European Space Agency (ESA), European Investment Bank (EIB), European Commission, European Parliament and European Defence Agency (EDA). Austrian Defence Innovation Conference (ADIC 2027)

We would like to inform you about the upcoming Austrian Defence Innovation Conference (ADIC 2027), taking place on 25–27 January 2027 in Klagenfurt, Austria. The conference will focus on key areas of defence innovation, including AI and autonomous Systems, swarming technologies, sensors and quantum technologies, biotechnology and neurotechnology, and critical infrastructure and energy supply. The event will also feature Challenges and Hackathon activities, offering opportunities to contribute to the development of innovative defence and security solutions.
